I recently "discovered" this series of treasury-sized (9.5" x 13.5") reprints of Warren Tufts' classic adventure strip Casey Ruggles, which ran for six issues 1979-1981.

Each book features a color cover and b/w interiors, reprinting the strip in order. Unfortunately, none of the issues are numbered, so the only way to determine which issue is which is to go by the dates of the strips reprinted and by the subtitles each book has.

Casey Ruggles: The Whisperer goes from 1/19/49 to 1/14/50, and 8/21/50 to 11/18/50. The Marchioness of Grofnek goes from 1/5/53 to 5/23/53, and The Pearl Galleon goes from 5/25/53 to 1/2/54, so we can at least conclude that those two are consecutive issues. These two latter issues feature an ad for Volumes 7, 8, and 9, which--according to the GCBD, at least--were never published. I guess that makes them issues 5 and 6.

I've never read Casey Ruggles, only seen some art from it here and there. I really like Mr. Tufts' work, so it'll be fun to catch up with this strip in this fun format. Hopefully I'll be able to find the other three issues and complete the set.
